BREAST FEEDING MOMS!

On September 15, 2012, breastfeeding mother Dawn Holland was accosted by the manager of Applebee's in Covington Georgia. She was asked to either nurse her son in their bathroom or leave. When she stated her rights to breastfeed and did not move, the police were called.

Let's make a stand!

On Saturday September 29th at 1:00pm we are requesting a nationwide nurse in at local Applebee's restaurants. This is to promote our rights to choose how we feed our babies and an effort to educate business and the public about breast feeding. Even if you are not a nursing mother please go to an Applebee's and let them know you are there for a Mother's Right to Choose and let their staff know you support mothers and their choice on how and when to feed their children. Please join us and spread the word to your mother groups, friends, family and local communities. Also, be sure to post this message to your facebook page, blogs you may follow or any form of social media.

Together we can make a change.

Wow that is smurfed up. We def need to do something about it. I support breastfeeding in public and all of the BF moms including myself..

Damn, Applebee's will they ever learn. I hosted a nurse in there about 4 yrs ago.
They really need to train staff better.

I tried only breastfeeding my 4th child, but it didnt go so well because the amniotic fluid and colostrum mixed causing her to choke silently.
I will say I was disgusted and appauled one day to find a woman sitting in the bathroom at Walmart breastfeeding her baby. I wouldnt breastfeed in public if I did breastfeed. That is just me. I would probably pump then. By all means, breastfeed where you feel comfortable. Just not in a bathroom!

I would love to be apart of this but I dont want to host. Wish someone would do it around here

It was the bathroom. I wouldnt eat my food in the bathroom, so please dont feed your babies in the bathroom.

Its ALL applebees, you just go there and breastfeed publicly! Im not breastfeeding right now but I do want to go! And I think I will.

We set up right outside the store because you can't go inside and protest. They would just ask you to leave.
We were right on the sidewalk , so city property.
We set up a few canopy, sunshade things and a bunch of chairs, we had signs and such and just chilled and nursed. The media declined to come to our event.   but in other states they showed and people were on the news.

Why were you disgusted and appalled? I take my daughter to the restroom to nurse her sometimes when we're at a restaurant or shopping or whatever, not because I am ashamed or don't think it's right to BF in public, but because I don't want people staring at us or seeing my boobs.

My only problem is are they just trying to get people to come eat there to "make a point"? How legit is this story? I just wouldnt want to go and pay for smurffy food lol
