For a number of reasons.
I had a mid-wife,btw,with all 3 kids and at the same prenatal clinic so it wasn't like they told me to have a c-sec just to make it easy for them, they genuinely thought it would be best
. With #3 I went 41wks and they were concerned about my placenta aging and size of baby(he turned out to be 9.13) so they induced me(I never had to be induced with my first 2 kids) When they induced me everything was going good, They gave me Pitocin to start my labor,I labored to 7cm with NO epi(that was some very brutal, traumatizing pain). At 7cm they baby was in distress so they turned OFF the Pitocin and everything STOPPED, my contractions and dialation came to a complete stop at 7cm. Also when they broke my water it had meconium. With the combo of all those things, they thought a c-sec would be best. I cried when they told me. I was so disappointed in my body, I couldn't believe how everything was going... when with my 1st, 2 kids everything went perfectly natural and normal.
Its been 3months since I had my 3rd and I still shudder at all I went through just for it to end in a c-sec. Thankfully my c-sec recovery did go very well.
