Quoting * MRS KING *:" I thought obama passed a law awhile back that gave all pregnant women free health care???? Does she make too much or what?"
Quoting JudyRebecca:" <blockquote><b>Quoting nutmeg.:</b>" No. you have to have a ridiculously low income ... [snip!] ... pregnant or not."</blockquote> The ONLY income she has is child support for her other daughter which is 310$ a month"Why is she not already on medicade then?
Quoting nutmeg.:" No. you have to have a ridiculously low income to qualify for government funded healthcare, pregnant or not."Not always true. I got on and my husband makes $45,000 a year.( we had two kids already) If she makes less then $25,000 a year by herself then shell get it.
Quoting JudyRebecca:" I never said that they would deny her health care. But the clinic she was going to won't see her anymore, ... [snip!] ... , she's in "early labor" they did an ultrasound baby looks good and is measuring roughly 5 lbs 11 oz and looks good so far."Why wont they see her? Why can't she see another doctor?
Quoting Emma+Abby+Logansmommy:" Not always true. I got on and my husband makes $45,000 a year.( we had two kids already) If she makes less then $25,000 a year by herself then shell get it. "
Quoting nutmeg.:" Like I said, you have to have a very low income."Ouch!
Quoting nutmeg.:" Like I said, you have to have a very low income."That's not that low. You may make more or have access to allot but this is actually average for where I live . You also have to look at the cost of living where your at . I know that people make more at the same job living in other areas of the country and the rates they go by to qualify for assistance differ from state to sate its not an overall income requirement. we barely make the cut off in Oregon for state assistance ( Here you sometimes have to pay a co pay on government assistance depending on your income) however they just raised the poverty level so that might have something to do with it. I know that medicaid is much more lenient then food stamps programs . We don't qualify for those by a long shot . She doesn't need to be dirt poor with very little income to qualify she just has to make the cut off which is really high at least in Oregon.

Quoting nutmeg.:" Sorry, I could have worded that nicer. I was just saying if you think about it, a family of 5 living ... [snip!] ... a family of four here. And I'm not talking about anything extravagant. I suppose that $ could go a longer way elsewhere. "Yeah I think it more depends on the area of the country you live in. I know my family in Alabama wouldn't qualify because the cost of living is really low so they would need to make about what you said to make the cut off but here the cost of living is a bit higher. Still in her case it doesn't sound as if shes got much money so she should qualify either way.
Quoting Tashara: Just Me:" Nearsest ER. They have to see you. She'll get a bill but at least she'll know what's up."
