20-30lbs lost by December?

posted 21st Sep
Is this a safe goal? I weigh 220 and am 5'9. My court date for finalizing the divorce is in December and although my ex won't be there other than by telephone, I would really like to look great and at least have that date be a goal date. I already go to the gym 3-4 times a week for an hour and am on Weight Watchers. Haven't lost a pound in a month with just exercising alone.

Is there anything else I can add to increase the weight loss? I was taking phentermine, but that didn't do anything. I am going to be taking b12 for energy.

I didn't work out much, but stopped drinking anything but water! I would eat breakfast, have a snack, eat lunch, have another snack & then eat dinner. I lost 20lbs. in a little over a month. It's possible! Good luck. (:

I think that's a fine goal!
My mom was around that weight and didn't start a "diet" but got on just this new, "lifestyle change" in eating, and her first 10-20 dropped FAST.

I love weight watchers. I think it works really well!!

Healthy weight loss is at MOST 2lbs a week. lets just say Oct, Nov, and all of Dec and that's about 12 weeks, so 24lbs at most.

It COULD be hard but doable. Remember though that some weeks you just wont lose. It happens. If you set a strict "this much by this time" then you could get depressed part way through if it doesn't look like you'll make it.

I honestly think that taking it week by week is easier, and setting goals without times. So, celebrate 5%, 10%, whatever, whenever you hit it. If you see each week as a period of time, then gain or lose, you'll be excited each week and it keeps you motivated IMO.

I think you can do it. Theres a website called lose it where you enter in what you ate, how much and how you exercised, and your goal of how much weight you lose by what date, and it configures a safe amount of calories for you to eat every day. If you go over on your calories you just work out more to even it out. I lost five pounds in two weeks from doing that, and from not drinking anything but water. Youd be surprised how many empty calories you drink.   Good luck

Given your weight, you can DEFINITELY lose 30lbs by december.

Eat lots of lean protein, lots of vegetables/fruits, only good-carbs (brown rice, sweet potato, whole grains, oats), LIMIT sugar intake, drink mostly water/tea.

Depending on how much time you have 30 min cardio + 30 min weight lifting (weighted lunges transform the hell out of a glute & lower ab).

You will be ROCKING (not that you arent already) by december.
