Yeah, I think for most preemies, genetics kicks in after a while. Faith was 2lbs 12oz at birth, she's now 38in tall (off the growth chart) and 32lbs (50%)! She's always been really thin though. Ethan is also taller and thinner than most babies. I see a lot of pretty porky preemies, so I think it's just the way he's built! You must just make little guys too =)

He's 12 lbs 8 oz and 25 inches as of today. He's only gained about 4 oz in the last 2 weeks (but grew 3/4 in longer!). He was at the 5th percentile, and he's dropped off the chart now. I have to supplement formula while I nurse to hopefully get him back up.

Wow! He is a little guy! So is everything ok? I think I remember he had some heart troubles or something at first, does his weight correlate with that? Or is it unrelated? That stinks that you have to supplement. I hate using formula. Well good luck with the weight gain. It can be a very stressful thing! I'll be thinking about you guys.

His heart is fine, they checked his lungs, and did a cystic fibrosis test and everything is fine. He was sick for a couple weeks, and then I think those 2 super hot days we had affected it too, cause he didn't want to eat then. She's coming in a week to see if he's gained, I'm supposed to supplement at all nursings, and put formula in his cereal too. I have to mix it 5oz-3 scoops for more calories. That stuff stinks! I'm hoping he gains, I'm not sure what the next step is if he doesn't.

Well good luck! Weight gain has always been a big stressing point with my kids, so I know how it feels. I hope things get better soon so you can stop worrying about it!
