Due date confusion HELP!

ok so my dr says going by LMP im due Oct 23 2012. (lil note on that, my period has always been a bit irregular and im guesstimating the date of my LMP, i never really did keep track of it date wise like i shouldve lol) I got my first sonogram at 20 weeks and the tech said i was further along, that my due date is Oct 10. Well my dr still goes by the 23rd, saying that because the sonogram was done later, the baby is bigger and well the bigger the baby, the sooner the due date. I had another sonogram done today (my baby girl is weighing in at 6lbs 14oz  ) and the tech said her measurements are the same so my due date is still Oct 10! Of course I just want a healthy fully baked baby lol but anyone can shed some light on this? Has this happened to any of you? Which would you trust more? My mother suggests to think of it as being due on the 23rd so im not going crazy by the 10th, but im already there! Im so anxious to meet my baby girl and its just a lil annoying not even having a estimate at this point other than "sometime in october" lol

It doesn't matter what the tech said. Your OB is the one who would be inducing you, so your due date is the 23rd until your OB states otherwise. And ultrasounds can be off by a good pound or more. 

Always listen to your OB. My son always measured off. Went from July 19th to July 23 to July 20 to July 15. Lol. I had him July 27th with an induction.

ugh! im so huge its hard to imagine i still have like an entire month left lol I jus wanna get my baby girl already!! lol

I am going through that now, if you are having a bigger baby they are off more. I have like 4 due dates, no joke. Regardless I am not letting him come till he is ready. No induction, but I hear ya! So frustrating and you just want a answer. But ultrasounds are not accurate, and neither are due dates, they can be off up to 4 weeks either way. So just trust she will come when she is ready. My 3rd son was born at 331/2 weeks because of the doctor messing up the due date. It is a huge long story, but trust me had I known or he, I would never of let him come out. He now has horrible lung issues from our mistake. I feel terrrible for him.

The only thing you can do is be prepared for either due date, have everything ready and bag packed, and all that. Dont try to induce labor before the 27th, as in dont do anything weird   Other than that, enjoy and try to stay busy so you wont think about due dates. Good Luck!!

From my lmp my due date is nov 19th but since baby has been measuring a week ahead since my 9wk sonogram and the 3 after it, my OB changed my due date to nov 12th. Early on they go by fetal developement for the babys age .....after a certain point the baby is fully developed and is just adding weight , lung & brain maturity

Agree! Either way congrats and you don't have much time left! Enjoy it! And when she comes show us pictures! it is well worth the wait..  

thanks alot! and yeah i wouldnt dare do anything to induce labor, i of course just want my baby girl to be healthy....and of course ill upload pictures as soon as she's born! <3

I'm just so anxious to meet her! lol and the due dates are only 2 weeks apart...but 2 weeks make a BIG difference when you're this pregnant, as im sure you all know! lol
