hemangioma

posted 20th Sep
If your child had/has one how did it start out? Kellan has a lump by his belly button, when you push on it its hard and it appears to be growing in size. Its also painful to the touch for him. We went to the doctor today and shes stumped. She even called in another doctor to look. We had an X-ray done which showed a cloudy area where the lump is so we're being sent for an ultrasound on Oct 4 to "rule out" a hemangioma forming or cancerous cells. IF its either of those I'm leaning more toward hemangioma because if she were seriously concerned I would think we'd be sent for an ultrasound and blood work right away. Trying to say positive and logical while we wait.
I did make this post a couple days ago with this picture, its gotten a little larger in size and its hard to the touch now.

My LO has a few small ones but it doesn't look like that at all. I don't think that's what it is.

Hmm my daughter has a strawberry hemangioma (a birthmark). But it doesn't look like that. Its quarter sized, raised and red. It doesn't seen to hurt her. I suppose thats a little different than what your talking about tho

that doesnt look like an hemangioma. it should have some color to it, since its just a cluster of blood vessels at the surface. and a hemangioma isnt painful. i hope they can figure out what it is soon.

Yup, so did my son and had it removed and it looked very similar to that.
Not everything your daughter has is the ONLY way certain things can look.

Was your sons hernia tender to the touch? He screamed at one point while they were feeling his belly.

Yes, especially if he was gassy or full, it would protrude more and be more tender.
