It never ends

Cylus went from just needing Speech therapy and developmental therapy for cognitive development from his OSA to now he still has speech (no OSA anymore though) and we are now adding in PT/OT. Why doesn't any body have smurfing answers to why he is so behind?

im sorry hun. my LO is getting DT and OT. we really dont know whats going on with him either... there is no clear cut answer why he is delayed, i kind of know what you're feeling.

The reason I'm so frustrated though is because its like oh he is good on this stuff then looses it. WTF?!?! That can't be normal right? We have been searching for an answer to his speech delay for over a year. I'm going nuts!!!! I mean I'm sure it would help if his dad even had one smurf to give and could be supportive but he isn't .

have you had him tested for autism?

yeappp to count 9 times now...and he doesn't come near anywhere testing positive for it.

hmmm. im sorry hun. we are taking LO to be tested October 25th. have you seen any developmental pediatricians?

nope but I'm requesting we go see a new speech pathologist at the hospital my mom works at. Also going to be aclling the pedi on Monday (work too late tomorrow to have a chance to call them) to see what they say. Like iti s smurf that I didn't even really notice. I feel like such a smurffy mom.

you're not a smurffy mom. you are doing everything in your power to find out whats going on. You might research some developmental pediatricians in your area.

Lol i'm sure there are tons of them we have two major children hospitals just within an hour of here and then there are a few others like Shriners too. lol

Yeaa I just have to find one that will take my insurance since it is in a different state than I live. I'm just so stressed. Like how and why and UGH! I'm refusing to use google. At least that is what I keep telling myself.

i feel the same way! but then i think, a diagnosis isnt going to change the way i feel about my son, i will always love him no matter what. but yes, i would like to get a diagnosis for him so we can start appropriate therapies and such. its frustrating, and ive cried a lot about this.. but in a weird way.. its like..ive found peace with it. My LO is different, and may always be different, and ive accepted that.

yea I'm just tired of people being like well why doesn't he talk? Why doesn't he do this? Why is he always going 5million miles a minute? like I really have answers? I just want to be able to say SmUrf IT THIS IS (insert whatever is going on) and Also I just want to be able to tell his dad look your kid is seriously having issues because of ____ and yea.

Yea then douche blames it on me. I'm like really? I'm the one that is involved in his life gets him help and yet when they come back from being with you they are BOTH screwed up and yet it is my fault?
