If he is having plenty of wet diapers, only wants the boob, nurses frequently, is satisfied after nursing, is not LOSING weight, & is still meeting milestones, I am wondering why supplement?
Lots of skin to skin, nursing on demand, and making sure baby gets enough time on each breast can help with milk supply. Is he nursing on each breast until he is satisfied or are you timing & switching sides still? The longer he is on the breast, the more fatty hindmilk he gets.
being underweight alone is NOT a reason to supplement. I would consider getting a second opinion.
