Sciatic Nerve Pain
posted 20th Sep
So apparently my daughter takes after her mother and uncle. My mom always told me that she carried my brother and I low and that we were a terror on her back. My little girl is doing the same thing to me. lol
I talked to my doctor about my severe back pain, stomach pain, and leg pain so bad I could barely walk. She said the baby is probably on my sciatic nerve, and that a belly band might help, and if it doesn't then I'll have to do physical therapy.
I just got the one I ordered yesterday, and put it on for the first time today...and I'm hoping it will help, since I desperately do NOT want to go through physical therapy. I hated it when I was a kid, I doubt it'd be any better now! lol Plus it's making my back spasm like crazy...and my amazing boyfriend isn't going to be here for a week. He's in Kansas for his cousin's wedding (the last big trip either of us will be taking until next August when baby girl is old enough to go with us), and isn't here to rub my back when it happens at 4AM lol
Sooo...does anyone have any advice on how to get her to move off my nerve? I love my little girl, but she is killing me! lol Any ideas are helpful...

I that, my dr didn't even consider physical therapy. She said its pregnancy thing and to suck it up . She said it's the weight more that baby, ( I'm real small and was real small before pregnancy) & that once I lost the baby weight it would go away

I still have 2 1/2 months until she's supposed to be born...so I'm hoping there's a way to help with it before then! lol

My last pregnancy (baby #2) I had this happen when I was 5 months pregnant. I couldn't bend down or roll over without almost crying. It was bad. Nothing helped, just try to stay off that side :/ I do remember tho that when I had her, it was like instant relief.

Sciatic pain is one of the more common pain complaints during pregnancy. I have seen significant result using the combination of deep tissue massage (from a highly skilled fascial therapist); self massage on a foam roller or lacrosse ball; and flexibility exercises. Here are some self massage and flexibility exercises that I have seen help.

Good luck.
