potty trained??
posted 22nd May
So my daughter has FINALLY been telling me every time she needs to go potty and staying dry and all that good stuff. Except every once in awhile when she'll wet herself out of nowhere! Is this normal when they're just potty trained? I'm just so fed up with potty training and I want to be done with it before this baby comes!

Lol, this is funny to me only because I am so looking forward to the day I ONLY have to buy diapers for one! Both of my sons which will be 4 in August and 3 in September are afraid of the toilet so they are still in diapers, and I add that to my 1 year old daughter who afcourse still wears them so i am looking at a future that, god forbid, may hold buying diapers for four kids at once!!! lol
I never used to laugh about this, I use to cry about it but I realise that I will probably set my babies even further back if I try to force them to get over there fears before they are ready and that is what all the books i read say, so i have given it up for now!
My kids can eat by them selves, wipe themselves off, dress tehmselves almost all by there selves, and drink with a real cup so this is really the only thing they aren't totally on track with!
Slowily, they are able to be in the bathroom when I go now, and flush it without bursting into tears! Progress! They HATE sitting on it and the training potty also because it has a hole in it but when we stated neither of them were using the words everyone says they need to know and they still don't go the whole night with out using the bathroom in there diapers so maybe they just really werent ready and still arent!
My oldest two are my step kids and there dad says that they didn't really start to do it very well till after four either so i can't say I feel like a bad mommy anymore which was totally where I was at! I have now decided, especiallly with another baby coming and another boy at that, that I am going to wait for there que on it because if I made a lot of progree over the next three months whos to say they wouldn't revert back to baby mode as soon as another one came into the picture?
I have set a goal of for sure before Christmas atleast the eldest will be done but if I cna't ge tthem there, what can you do? Only having some accidents is still far away for me, and I am looking forward to it! Atleast your little girls isn't terrified of the potty! I would jsut keep acting really excited every time she makes it and have no reaction at all when she doesn't! Ususally they are suckers for the pride factor!
