re: WWYD?? Teen pregnancy.

Hmmm I must be insane then.

I would not let that fly in my house. I wouldn't shove her out in the cold by I would not be babysitting or anything. I think if she thought she was grown enough to plan a baby than she is grown enough to plan to raise it.

I had my oldest when I was 20 and it was not planned and I NEVER asked for help. There were times she even had to go to class with me cause the daycare ha no room that day or the babysitter I PAID was sick.

Haha, I know where this is stemming from...

I would be VERY upset. Feel like I failed as a parent in ensuring my daughter (or son for that matter) knew how big of a responsibility they were taking on just by having sex. I'd help them with what they need, within reason. They need to own up to their mistake but I'm still their Mom.

Not at all what I was meaning. The OP states if she planned the pregnancy.. and I think if you're planning on getting pregnant at 16 and aren't able to support yourself then you should've waited... I'm not saying that I wouldn't support her.. I'm saying that I would be way more unhappy with her in comparison to if it happened accidentally (like a BC mess up or something along those lines rather than actually TTC at 16)

I would be soooooooooooo disappointed in my child. I would never turn her away, but I would not enable her. If she wanted to parent she will parent, with my assistance. I can help financially but she will still work. She will get to at night and get babysitting only for work, school, and very special occasions. If she won't or can not finish school she will no longer get my finical help.

Me too. I wouldnt be all happy "yay" for her but eh she is still my child and I couldnt let the baby suffer for her bad choices.

You are insane.. That is your baby (son or daughter) and your grandchild. You would get over it.

I wouldn't be jumping at the chance to babysit either.

You should have aborted her the minute you found out you were having a girl then.... or shouldn't have gotten pregnant. You shouldn't just dismiss your children because they do something you dislike...

I would help her...yes it was a stupid choice but when I chose to have my daughter it wasn't a choice made for when she was only making wise choices.

At 16 they cannot drive or work really... if you don't help her, she is basically being left out in the cold.

You said you'd put your kid in foster care for getting pregnant on purpose as a teen....which pretty much means you'll turn your back on them. How sad.

"I am seriously disappointed in you." Then I'd make steps to make sure she was responsible for her actions. She could live with me but she'd be going to school and either doing house work regularly and caring for her baby or she could work part time and I'd babysit while she worked.
