$17.63-$12.71 how do you round that to the nearest ten dollars?
$20 is the closest 10 to 17.63 and $10 is the closest to 12.71. So the answer should be $10
and $116.13+$278/87 to the nearest hundred dollars
100 + 300. Answer is 400
and
$7,351.12+$4,887.83 to the nearest thousand dollars
7000 + 5000. Answer is 12000

also this problem is confusing

In 1787 Deleware became the first state of the United States to the nearest hundred, about how many years ago did Deleware become a state?

It would bee 200 years. Round up to the nearest hundred would make it 1800 and rounding down from 2012 to the nearest hundred would be 2000

17.63 is 20 rounded up, because if you have $17.63, you are closer to having 20 than 10. 12.71 is 10. 20-10=10

116.13+278.37= 100+300= 400
because 278.37 is more than 250, which is halfway to 300.

7351.12+4887.83= 7000+5000=12000
because 7351 is less than 7500, and 4887 is more than 4500.

1787 rounded to the nearest hundred is 1800, so 2012-1800= 212 years ago.
