I'm looking in to new gyms and there's an Anytime Fitness close by. It is a bit expensive but it's all brand new equipment and there are some classes i could do that's included in the price. They're only staffed from 9am to 5pm and I would be going around 6am.

Have any of you been to a gym like this? Did you feel safe there with no staff? There's security camera's and they give you a key so not just anyone can get in. What do you think?

I go to the fitness center in my apartment complex. It's never staffed, but I always feel safe there. I often go late at night. You also need a key to get in, and they have camera's. I've never felt uncomfortable there personally.

I think I would feel safe because of there being camera's and others having to have a key in order to get in.

That's true. I used to go to my apt's gym all the time alone. I wish I could try it first. They give you a 7 day trial but you have to go when they're staffed.

i joined a gym like that in australia i thought i was awesome, i loved that i could go anytime.
About the safety issue, i would not worry so much, we had a safety alarm in the complex if something went down" you grab that alarm and press it and security would turn up.There are also security people watching through cameras as well.

I need to ask them what security measures they have.

I went to one like that. They gave you this card that you had to scan in order to unlock the door, so no one could come in if they didn't have one. I think it depends on the town too though, i don't trust the people in the town i live in now so i probably wouldn't be comfortable here. I go to planet fitness now, they are open 24 hrs and have staff at all times.

Well, live in a pretty nice area but it's a suburb of OKC, so there's going to be a mix of good and bad no matter what.
