Tanning....?

posted 22nd May
I've got a trip to cozumel planned in about 3 weeks. Im pale pasty white and don't like to be but I figured since I was pregnant I could stop tanning. I know the sun is crazy hot in Mexico and I don't want to burn badly or blister. I've heard it was oK to tan while pregnant just to keep hydrated and do not over heat yourself. Anyone Tanned while pregnant or know more on the subject??

It's not a good thing to do. I would just wear a lot of sun block and try not to over do it on your trip.

I did for the first month, before I knew I was pregnant. I heard it was safe too... but my fiance thinks it's bad...for the baby, and won't let me. Til after I have the baby.

I heard bed tanning is bad. Your body is not supposed to get over a certain degree (I want to say 102 but that could be wrong) when you're prego. When you're on the beach, just be sure to spend time in the shade too. Most tanning bed places will recommend a mystic spray on tan over using the bed if they're really concerned about your health and not just after your money.

I have heard that you burn easier when you are preggo...be careful and bring lots of sunscreen with a high SPF!

I went to Cozumel on my honeymoon...we loved it and want to go back! I am so jealous!

I wouldn't go tanning in a tanning bed. It raises your temp too much.

LOL watch out for the "You're going to cook your baby" lady! It's fine as long as you don't go for a long time, but it back to like 7 minutes or something(that's what I heard) I am 22 weeks and I have sat out and tried to get something besides this yucky white that I am.. I used the tanning products and Just went inside when I started to get too hot... I've also heard that when you're preggers you tan easier... Hope this helps!

I wouldn't go in a tanning bed. My family owns a tanning salon and we don't allow pregnant women to tan there.

Well I've asked my doctor about tanning and he said just don't go the full amount of time and get out if you get too hot. I just wanted others opinions on it. I believe if it were bad for your baby it would be bad for your insides correct? They just worry about you getting too hot?

I was told that bed tanning is not really a good idea but if you want some color try spray tanning just try to not inhale the fumes or also you can use tanning lotions and when you go to mexico just use lots of sun block and keep hydrated.
