Eh... I still don't think that's a big deal at that age. Maybe that's how they've always slept and how they are comfortable sleeping? They are young!

Jeez, I'm breaking that one then. DD sleeps in a pack n play in our room because she likes it in there with us. She's 8 months and probably not leaving our room any time soon.

BUT it's illegal. And they are different gender so they wouldnt be allowed to share a room either way, even if they had their own beds.

My son slept in my bed with me until he was 2. I had a crib next to my bed but he never once slept in it
He went right to a twin bed.

We are not allowed more than 2 people to a room.
if we had 3 kids as opposed to 2, we wouldn't be able to stay in our 2 bedroom.
how is that confusing?

Oh I agree that from a law aspect, I am a horrible parent for allowing my kids to shower together.

I thought you meant you felt it was.

Both of my kids co slept with me as babies. Still do, sometimes. But it's different when there's bed sharing going on due to not having a sufficient amount of beds.

Exactly, that's what I've been saying. Another mom said cosleeping period is illegal in IL which is nuts.

Oh, yeah, no, IDGAF about that as long as they're comfortable
I only stopped co-showering with DS because he started being weird about it lol. And I still sleep with him sometimes. But to not HAVE beds, I can see that being an issue with CPS.

most people dont realize that if their child has government health insurance that it gets reported to the government when children arent taken to their ''well child check up'' or for scheduled immunizations. They actually check the doctors office for compliance of those things. Well child visits are not only to make sure that the child is physically heathy but also developementally on track ans show no signs of physical or mental abuse.
Cps isnt only there to try and remove children from their home...they have the authority to mandate parenting classes, money management education, and to put low income families in contact w/local resources.

This is interesting. My chiro has never taken his 4 children to a medical Dr. he treats them himself & CPS isn't knocking on his door.
Since when are well checks required by law? I can understand if the kids are ill & not taken for medical treatment, but that isn't what it sounds like to me.

I don't see anything wrong with the kids sharing a room and each have their own bed & if that is illegal for a 2 1/2 and 5 year old, we've allowed the gov't far more control than they should have. It does make me very sad that the kids don't have enough clothes or toys.

well check ups are not required by law but they are required if you recieve government insurance....well check ups save tax payers $ by catching possible ailments that can be very health destructive and expensive to treat if not caught early on.
