How much $ would u give a 5yr old? (bday)

Exactly what the title says. How much $$ would you give a 5yr old for their b-day? I suck at buying presents and i always feel like the kid would prefer to go shopping for what they want rather than possibly getting something they have.

20$ =D If I had it and they were my child/cousin/best friend's kid. That would be enough for a big toy or a couple of toys.

If they're not close family or friends' children, like 10 bucks.

I usually have a 15-20 dollar limit on kids gifts so I'd say 15 or 20. I'd probably do a gift card instead of cash though.

When my frinds kid turned 4 I gave him a 20.00 gift card for future shop, a 20.00 gift card for toys r us and a 30.00 gift card for wal-mart. He was thrilled.

I would give $10 for each year. So $50, my cut off is 100. My SO's Dad gives everyone $100 for their birthdays.. My son has $300 in savings just from Grandpa lol.

We do too. They are moving several states away October 1st so im going to stay away from gift cards just incase there isn't that store there.

Right? I thought it was a lot to give a 2 year old, but he's insistant. It at least goes into his savings account. He gives us $100 too on our birthdays, SO and I. He does it because he doesn't like the toy stores or any store for that matter.
