Tips to Help Lose Baby Weight
posted 22nd May
This is going to be a little long, but it will be beneficial if you would like to lose weight.
Ok so I'm not a nutritionist and I'm not a personal trainer. BUT I have been working out and healthy dieting for so long before I got preggo I thought I would share my experience with you. About 3-4 years ago I at one point was weighing 147 lb at 5'2, before that I was weighing 115 lb. I was in a bad relationship yada yada which made me gain the weight, bullshit-bullshit-excuses-excuses! Pre-preggo I weighed between 120-122 it varied from day to day depending on water weight. Now I am weighing in at a healthy 139 lb, which makes me freak because I am reaching that 147 number again!
So here it is ladies:
the fastest way to lose weight is to do massive amounts of cardio! Pre-preggo I would do about 45-60 mins of cardio everyday at the gym either on the stair climber, treadmill, or the elliptical. This was followed by an hour of weight training on all body parts (but switched diff body parts on diff days); and then finished up with 20 minutes of abdominal routines. I think getting my 6-pack back is going to be so hard... but I can't wait to get my butt back on my workout plan and strict diet! But I definitely will be breastfeeding for at least 6 months if not longer. Not only does that help limit spending money on formula, but EVERYONE has told me that breastfeeding helps you shred the pounds a hell of a lot quicker! Cardio & diet... or even living an active lifestyle will help u shred the pounds ladies!!
Calorie intake, Foods to avoid, and Foods to indulge:
So, the average person is supposed to intake 2000 calories a day. Obviously if you want to lose weight you need to limit your calorie intake. Typically the way this is done is this... say for example I weighed 120 lb right now... my calorie intake would want to be 1200-100... which would equal 1100 calories a day. Another example... your weight is 135 lb, your calorie intake should be 1350-100 = 1,250 calories a day. These calories a day are spread over 6 small meals a day. The point of eating 6 small meals a day is to keep your metabolism running at all times. The slower your metabolism is, the easier it is to gain weight. The faster your metabolism, the easier you lose weight. When I was on my strict diet I would only intake 1100 calories a day, and I was ripped. This consisted of 6 small meals a day. And 2 of those 6 meals, were small snacks, either a protein bar, or protein shake. Since I was so addicted to the gym, I needed as much lean protein as possible to help repair my muscle tone when I was done working out. In the mornings I would wake up before work and make 6 egg whites, with 1 slice of whole wheat toast, 3 hours later I'm eating a low-cal, low-sugar protein bar (18g of protein), 3 hours later I'm having lunch, which usually was a salad with some type of meat on it and fat free salad dressing, 3 hours later I was drinking a pre-made protein shake. Then by this time work is over 2 hours later, and I'm on my way to the gym to workout for 2 hours, come home and I cook dinner, which would consist of a 5-6 oz. portion of lean protein and a side of veggies... no carbs at night! During the day is the best time to consume carbs (and only healthy carbs... whole grain and whole wheat breads)... nothing white... no white rice, no white bread, no white pastas, etc! White carbs are simple carbs and when ur not using these carbs as energy they are stored in ur body as fat. Brown carbs on the other hand are too complex for the body to break down, hence we get the energy but it cannot be broken down into fat.
Foods to avoid -
Simple carbs which consist of white bread, white rice, white pastas. All of this should be replaced with Complex carbs - brown rice, whole wheat and whole grain breads, whole wheat pastas (if you really must eat pasta). Replace all fattening dairy products with fat free dairy products, this includes milks, cheeses, yogurts etc. Instead of chowing down on a cookie, eat a fruit. But don't over do it with the fruit because fruit is loaded with sugar, and sugar eventually turns into fat and is stored in your body. Which leads me to sugar... there are so many studies right now that shows all of these sugar subs are dangerous to your health but I still used them anyway. But since I found out Splenda has chlorine in it I switched to Equal. AVOID ALL FRIED FOODS! Usually you want to look in your pantries and refrigerators and empty out all fattening or sugary products. EVERYTHING has options these days ladies... everything either comes fat free, low-fat, low-carb, low-sugar, low-cal... go buy them! I have helped quite a few friends of mine shred more than 50 lb. a person in about 6 months. My very best accomplishment was my best friend who was weighing in at 190 lb. she now weighs 120 lb! She is lighter than me, and this was done by diet a lone. She is waiting for me to have the baby so I can go train her in the gym while I lose my baby weight as well.
If you ladies have questions please feel free to contact me on here, and I have my pics on private but if you want to see my before preggo pic so you can see I am not bullshitting, I would have to parentank you, so let me know!

I'm dying to lose weight. I'm 9 months PP and really haven't lost much since 6 weeks after my son was born.
Just wanted to point out that not everybody has 2 extra hours a day to workout. I'm not trying to be mean...just saying.
Also, 2,000 calories isn't 1 pound. 3,600 calories is 1 pound.
I've been breastfeeding my son the entire 9 months, and it hasn't helped me shed any additional weight.
I do at least 40 minutes of cardio 5 days a week. It hasn't helped me shed any additional weight.
It's just that some things work for some people and those same things don't work for other people. I don't think you should only be eating 1200 calories a day if you're breastfeeding. I tried cutting my calories down to about 1500 and my milk supply went down.
