i hate breastfeeding :(

Eli is two weeks old and still doing really good breastfeeding. But the last 2 days he has been cluster feeding almost all day. My nips are so raw and sore just from the last two days   everything was great before that. Adam was breastfed for 10 months and he never did this. I want to just give him formula because they hurt and hes not satisfied but i know its just a phase and Ill tough it out.  

lanolin cream?

2 weeks is prime time for a growth spurt!!

Are you putting anything on your nipples to help sooth them? Lanolin or breastmilk?

My son did that for like the first 2 months  
Get some lanolin cream, they sell the Lnsinoh brand at CVS or Babies R Us.
Its a lifesaver!!

And good for you for toughing it out! I hated it at times too, but here I am at 2 1/2 yrs still going lol

Ive done both, im steady using the linolin but not good yet

Can you try a nipple shield for a short time?

The skin under his tounge is a little short so it may be. We have been fine up until he started cluster feeding though.

I wouldnt try that unless you absolutely need to. I have heard girls on here talk about it actually messing up their LOs latch even worse and never being able to breastfeed normally again

Really? An LC suggested it to me. Sorry, I didn't know it could mess up a latch.

It definitely helps some women! I think its like the same as bottle feeding too early though, there's a possibility of messing it up
