Switching birth control pills

So I recently switched pills. I'm mainly on the pill to control my cysts and the pain during ovulation and my period. Of course, I also take it so I don't get pregnant lol My boyfriend and I always use condoms though and that's not going to change. I was just wondering how long does it take for the pill to be effective if you're just switching?

When I switched from Nuvaring back to the pill, my doctor said to be safe wait 2 weeks before unprotected sex but that was because I needed to let the hormone build up again. Is it the same where I have to wait 2 weeks even though I went from one pill to the other?

I had my period in between the pills and started the new pills the day I would have had to start a new pack of the old pills.

The pamphlet that came with my pill said on it if switching from another brand of contraceptive pill to wait 7 days.
