What could she have?

posted 18th Sep
I work at the local preschool cleaning the SNIP (Special Needs Intervention Program) room. There is this darling little girl in the program.
She is about 3 or 4, but she seems to have the motor skills and body support of like a 3 month old. She can't hold her head up. She can't sit up on her own. The teachers carry her around like a baby. And when they're not holding her she has to be laid down in a bean bag or a reclining stroller or something to support her head.
She can't speak. She only cries to let needs be known, but when she's happy you know it because she has the biggest smile ever. She also has seizures.

It's not right to ask the teachers what she has, but I'm so curious. Do any of you mamas know what it could be? I don't have the slightest clue.

CP would be my first guess

but i don't think it would be rude to ask. I mean, you work there and in the same room.

Yeah, true. I try to stay out of the way, though. I just didn't want to come across as nosy or rude, ya know?

You might have to care for her some point. I would just casually ask "What is her official dx?" or something simple like htat

I remember there was a girl in the grade below me in elementary school, sounds exactly what you described and she had cerebral palsy.
