You can really start whenever according to the many things I read. But my son hated tummy time since day 1. He will do it now at 2 months old but not for long before he either screams his head off or falls asleep.

Yeah I have a feeling she will hate it lol She is starting to try to hold her head up during burping though so I though maybe since she is doing that it would be a good time to start doing some tummy time.

Oh yea. If she's showing interest in lifting her head and looking around it would be a good time. My son has been lifting his head since birth but still hated it lol. Try rolling up a receiving blanket and putting it under her chest when you start so she has that lift already and maybe it will interest her more too. My son sleeps on his tummy so tummy time is no fun for him lol.

Anytime really. Remember they can do tummy on your belly too and a lot of babies feel better/safer that way.

The point of tummy time is to help then strengthen their neck muscles for better head control and so they dont get a flat head. So laying on your belly works for that just as well as a mat on the floor. Floor time is great but some babies hate tummy time at first but will love to lay on your tummy.

Bah... I wish that worked more often with my son. Being on my chest or belly and he thinks its either nap time or play the rolling off mommy game lol.
