apnea?

When DS was born, it took him a minute to breathe, idk why...the drs didn't tell me much but it wasn't too bad and they didn't seem to concerned.
and sometimes he'll spit up such a small amount that i dont really conceder it spitting up. It's like it dripples out of his mouth or looks like he's holding formula in his mouth.

Lol.. aren't we all with our firsts?

Although newborns never get easier.. you will always freak out when anything happens.. especially in the first week.

No this was a fairly regular thing and for a minute at a time, one time we even had to call 911.

Aww, you'll be alright momma and so will the LO.
I remember when I bought my DD2 home from the hosiptal I was so overwhelmed with the joy of having my family completed that I just knew something would turn out to be wrong with her and this vision of my happy healthy family would be ruined. I panic so much that I would obsess over something being wrong that it adventually got so bad I needed anti-anxiety meds. Fast forward to now, she's 9 months, healthy and smart as can be. Don't waste another second worrying. Enjoy that LO now, the newborn stage goes by in a blink, they grow up so fast.

But I feel the same way you did... I've had anxiety for a long time and get panic attacks. I don't take meds for it though, i just breathe through it and try to over look it.
I know they grow up so fast. too fast really.
and thank you for your kind words, it made me feel better.

DS's appt is in 3 hours from now, i'll let y'all know what his pedi said.

DS went to his pedi today and before I seen the dr., I was seen by a 3 year medical student.
He acted like nothing was wrong with DS and said he has never heard of back or neck arching being related to anything bad.
So I asked him, what about reflux? He said no, he'd be spittting up and vomiting.
So I asked, what about silent reflux? and he gave me this confused look and said he needed to do more research on that.

So the DR came in after the student confirmed that LO was a very healthy baby.
He said nothing was wrong with LO aswell...He didn't seem worried a bit about the extreme neck and back arching and said it was normal.
(he didn't arch at the dr's office..)

Idk if I really like what happened. They seemed pretty uniformed on the matter. I'm still worried.
But DS gained 4 ounces.

I would recommend getting another opinion, they don't really sound very interested in helping you to problem solve.

i know.
But the problem is that there is no other pedi in my town. argh

and last night his umbilical cord bled a little and it's swollen now. i called his pedi today and they said that's not a problem. they'll see him monday.
that bothered me..
I wont be going there monday, but trying to find the next closest pedi around.

I agree you should try and find another pedi if you're not satisfied with the way they are handling your concerns.

But my DD2 cord bled a little too and I freaked out of course...her pedi said it was fine and sometimes that happens.

My BIL said that has DD's cord bled a little too. that it's probably just got snagged a little from his diaper or shirt.

I'm not too worried about his cord, since it's not nastey or stinky and I take good care of it.
But I don't like how they just said it's nothing without even looking at it. Didn't even ask if it had an odor or anything. Just assuming it's fine.

I like your screen name btw.
