Amniocentesis?

I'm supposed to be going for an amnio in exactly 2 weeks, and I'll be 15 weeks 1 day. I was quoted a miscarriage risk of between 1 in 200 to 1 in 400 (pretty low!), but I'm obviously still a bit concerned.

I'm doing it because I have a 1 in 4 chance of passing Muscular Dystrophy to my child, and while I have no intention of aborting it would bypass a lot of testing once the baby is born so I fully intended to do it sometime during my pregnancy.

Have any other moms done the amnio? How far along were you? How badly did it hurt? And did you have any cramps/bleeding/ whatever afterwards?

My mom had to for the twins...she said it wasnt bad and the boys were 100% okay!!! Its rare to case a misscarriage....good luck hun! I will pray for u and ur babe!
