wow, im so sorry for her-i cant imagine.
it has to be so stressful and depressing at the same time carrying a life and waiting for it to end.

idk about the chances of survival, but there are always stories about babies who arent supposed to make it, you know?

I know & that's what I said. But they're so sure.
I hope they're wrong.. but then at the same time what if the baby lived & had a horrible life filled with lots of medical complications b/c she/he lived?

I don't know which is worse :/

"Long-term prognosis is guarded. These babies are critically ill even if they do survive to birth. Of the fetuses diagnosed prenatally, only about 20 percent survive to delivery. Of this number, approximately half will survive the neonatal period. Long-term survival for those that make it through the newborn period is based on the underlying cause of the hydrops. The data currently shows an optimistic outlook for those babies who do survive."

From what I read, they could possibly do a blood transfusion to try and help for treatment. Depending on the type I guess. I wouldn't really want to doubt her doctor, but she could always go for a second opinion and see maybe if there is a specialist?

From what I understand, it's affecting the baby's lungs & bladder & the baby can't release urine. Both her & my dad underwent genetic tests to see if there's a reason that they had (or may have) two losses, & the doctor told them there shouldn't be a reason why they can't have a healthy baby   It just happened..

Thanks for the info. I hate reading it though   It makes me sad.
