Happy Happy Joy Joy!!

Ha! I just got off the phone with my son's grandmother, and I could do cartwheels right now! Let me just say that my son's dad changed his mind 11 weeks into this adventure, was only at 1 sonagram that we got at LifeLine when were were 7 weeks 1 day...4 weeks later he bounced...never heard his sons heartbeat never saw him wiggle around inside my tummy, never felt the kicks and punches, and that's ok. Colton is 4+ months now and his dad has seen 2 pictures of him, never seen him, and began denying paternity at around 2 months, for no reason except that the woman he's with now puts a bunch of BS in his head and she doesn't even know me or have a right to talk about me. The two of them even went as far as telling me that SHE'S pregnant and he KNOW'S it's his.whatever...ANYWAY..talk to his mom today and she told me that, 1. her son is an idiot. 2. his new girlfriend is not now nor has she ever been pregnant by him, last but not least 3. Since her son decided to be a REAL genius and move 16 hours south of where his son and I reside, she will take the DNA test for him to help establish partnity for Child Support Enforcment! I'm so happy that she wants a relationship with Colton and is so willing to help me with getting child support from his dad...the only thing I'm not looking forward to is the possibility of having to share my son with him....I'm trying to figure out how the courts will handle custody with Colton and I being in NC and his dad being in FL...I can't take off every other weekend, nor can I afford to, to take him to FL or even meet half way...I'm really worried about that, that is SOOO much travel for such a young baby, I don't want my son spending his weekends in the back seat of a car (esp with his dad since he and his new girl smoke like freight trains)

Congrats on him having an awesome grandma! In Texas I know if you have the baby here a lot of times the judge will order the parents to be so close in distance to keep their visitations. My aunt couldn't move or she wouldn't have been able to see her kids (they chose to stay with my uncle for whatever reason...they were older). Hopefully there is some kind of similar thing going on there.

First off that is awesome she is willing to do that..second he is an idiot like my bd, and forget him.

And not sure how it works there. But here the judge would get him to sign over his rights right away..well not really sign them over, here the judge just takes them away for a no show in court, on the first date. Then they need to fight to get them back.

But thast Ontario. Well good luck and hope he either steps up 100% and be a father and pays support, and I am sure with all the backround story a judge wouldnt give him visitations and all that,

but if he has to sign his right's over he won't have to pay support will he?

Oh how come?

Not like that here. DD dad lost his rights to her at 2 yrs old but was ordered to pay support. But only did for 2 months then quit his job and went on assistance so he didn't have to pay anymore. Been 8 yrs and last time I took him to court for support last year he does not make enough to pay for her and support himself and pay support for his other 2 kids that he has no rights to either cause they are in Foster care.

So idk then. It does not work like that here.

Now that is a good grandma! That's awesome. Dude, if he moved that far away and has been denying your son, and actin' a fool otherwise I honestly wouldn't be too worried about having to do visitations or share you kiddo with BD. I really doubt the courts will put any type of pressure on you and your little baby to go to the BD who has proven himself to be a deadbeat thus far. Don't worry! Hopefully you'll get child support without any drama and BD will just stay in his own little immature world until he's changed into a real man who doesn't have to be MADE to pay and support his child by the law.
