Confusing as heck

posted 13th Sep
I don't know where else to put this but the other day I sent my oldest sister a txt saying that the test was a false positive, I got my period. She called me this morning and asked me if I was sure that I am not pregnant because it is possible to get "period" like bleeding during pregnancy. Is that true? Can you get bleeding duing pregnancy? I am really freaking out here and I hate how confusing this is...

You are more likely to have period like bleeding than get a false positive. You should test again or have the doctor do blood work.

You can bleed, but it's not your period. Maybe you should get a blood test done?

It is very possible to have period like bleeding during pregnancy. i have worked with a few girls that didn't find out until they were 5-6 months pregnant because they thought they were still having their period.

My question is if I do retest should I do it tomorrow morning or wait another week? I only have a digital test left. I might go do a blood test if I can get the money for it

Well the problem was after the first positive, I got a negative, then another positive after that one. Is that common too?

A woman I worked with had her period for months, I forget why she decided to take a pregnancy test - I think she might've been late on her period. She was pregnant...5 months pregnant.

It's not a true period - but our bodies can fool us!!

You can't really get false positives - it is more likely a chemical pregnancy rather than a false positive if you're not pregnant now. I'd test again/get a blood test.

If you got two positives and one negative, I'd say you're pregnant. It's more likely to get a false negative, than a false positive I've always heard.

About the bleeding though, I had light bleeding for a week straight when I was around 6-7 weeks along. All I can guess it was, is implantation bleeding. Which some people get, some people don't. It's normal though.

It's common to get false negatives, Not so common to get false positives (It does happen, But not overly often, You either have HCG levels or you don't, There isn't much mistaking them) Lots of women have bleeding during pregnancy, So i'd def go to the docs to find out for sure, Rather than worrying your positives are negative. The bleeding could be nothing, Or a loss after a positive.
