Kayla has arrived! :]

I just wanted to let everyone know that we had Kayla Lynn yesterday at 10:09 PM! She weighed 8 lbs 3 oz. Her surgery was done an hour after her birth. (I had to have an emergency C-Section) She had to have her intestines, ovaries, and stomach placed back in her belly.(It only took one surgery!) Her surgery went fine and the doctor is more than pleased with her progress. Hopefully she'll be home in about 2 weeks.
I went in on Tuesday morning to be induced, and found out I had gone into labor on my own.   My water broke, but they had to break it 2 more times. After the third time, I went from a 5 tobeing fully dilated. We weregoing to try for a natural delivery, but after4 hours ofpushing, I was making no progress. So we went in for an emergency C-Section. I ended up losing a whole lot of blood, and had to have a transfusion. Sooo.. here I am, waiting to get the green light on the transfiusion working. Thank goodness they have W-Fi here.

Wanted to say Congratulations and I am so glad the surgery went well for the baby! I was praying for you when I read that your baby would have to undergo the surgery even though I guess it is kinda common. I would be a mess and I think you handled it so well. Hope all continues to go well and can't wait to see some pics......BTW love her name!

congrats! did you know she was gonna have to have surgery after she was born...was it something they found on an ultrasound prior to birth? what caused that! im so glad you are both doing well!

They went to check my cervix, and the pad was soaked! I had NO clue that it had broken. They tested and it was amniotic fluid. So they upped the pitocin, and I wasn't making any progress. The doctor felt again, and said that Kayla had plugged it so she popped it again. I STILL wasn't progressing. A different doctor came in and said there was still some water there. After popping it the third time there was a big gush of water. An hour later, I went from a 5 to being fully dilated.

Yup. We knew.. they found it at our 20 week sono that she had gastroshisis. There is no known cause for it.. I do know that it is pretty common (they had 4 babies at the same time with gastro.)

Just wanted to say congrats and I'm delighted for ye! I knew ye had already gone through so much and am thrilled everything turned out so well. Take care. Cant wait to see those pics
