Thanks. He seems okay 99% of the time, I'm just worried about the fact that the fever keeps coming back. And it only lasts for a few hours. Last night he woke up asking for a drink. His temp was 101. This morning, he was fine.

Same. I haven't written in a while. I'm okay with it. I'm still going to write when I can and hopefully finish NaNoWriMo next year.

Okay, I have a question.

I fried my laptop and got a desk top. I like it, but there are time when I can't use it. It's set up in my bedroom, so in the mornings while husband is sleeping I can't use it. Also, if I have a reason or time to write while the kids are busy I can't use it. I want something else to use.

I'm tempted by the alphasmart ones. They are almost like electronic keyboards. They are VERY simply. Just for writing basically. Long battery lives and you can transfer the files to your computer to edit. I'm so tempted because I figure I'd have something I couldn't smurf around on. I couldn't look at websites or anything else, and that seems really cool.

But, then my husband (who is a software engineer, so he's always into the best) things that's gimmicky and wants me to get a real laptop again. He figures why get something that really only does ONE thing when I could get something that does many.

What do you think? I'm thinking about buying a cheap older version of the alphasmart on ebay for like $20 and seeing if I like it. . .

if it was the same price as a laptop, I'd agree with your husband. but if it is way cheaper, then you are just paying for what you need...

Cheaper then a netbook or a nice laptop. Brand new from the distributor you're looking at just 150 or so for the lesser one or up to almost 300 for the higher model with a few extra feature. So I could get a really cheap laptop probably. I refuse to buy netbooks anymore. Mine ALWAYS die pretty quickly and I hate the little keyboard, haha.

For $20, I would definitely give it a shot. I like the idea of not being able to mess around doing anything else when I'm supposed to be writing. I use my iPad for a ton of my writing, but I only have one because my husband bought it off his boss for $100.

I really hope I like it! But even for 50 I figure it's worth it for a while. I can't wait to get it.
