I've been trying really hard not to do too much reading, because I know that if I let it, I'll end up doing that instead of writing and I won't get anything done. lol

My internet has been wacky the last few days, so I haven't been able to update my word count at all.

I forgot my word count lol... I haven't written in like 3 days

I'm sad bc I did want to be able to say I finished. I still might if I get a SUPER crazy last minute shot of inspiration lol

Have you put any thought into how you're going to try and get published? With one of my novels, I decided to try and get a literary agent to represent me, but I couldn't find anyone to even email me back. I'm not sure if that's the best way to go, or if I should try contacting publishers on my own.

It's the guide to literary agents. It lists thousands of agents and tells what kind of novel each one is looking for. It tells how to submit to them and how long to wait for a response. Most of them prefer submissions by snail mail from what I've read. I bought it for my sister since her book is done now.

It also has sections on how to write your proposal and all the stuff you need to submit. You have to have a lot more than just your finished work, which I had no idea before lol

I have this, but it's an oooold copy. Like 2006 I think. I should probably get a new one.

Yep, I had this from before I had my kids. I actually attempted and got plenty of rejections, haha. I've since learned my mistakes. Also, having worked at a bookstore I've gotten some knowledge from the "selling" part of what sells and what doesn't. It's a LOT harder than most people think.

When I told DH I was writing a book earlier this year, he thought I was gonna deal like the girl from 50 shades. I was like nooo.... that doesn't really happen lol

Yeah, haha. But most people totally think that's how it works, and I was absolutely one of them. It was before 50 shades, so I thought I was going to be the next Stephanie Meyers, haha. I was so sure. Now I look back at my work and go "really? THATS what you thought was good?" And I want to destroy all copies so people can't hold it against me now.

What I'm working on now I don't expect to get published. I've realized that I need to work more on all the steps and not worry about marketing or selling. I need to just work on getting better. I still have hopes of someday being published though, haha
