Mirena

I go for my 6 week checkup next Friday and have been deciding on birth control. I've looked into Mirena and seem pretty interested in it but I was looking for some input on anyone that got it. Personal experience is always better then just a brochure. I've been on the depo shot and the pill and am really interested in something that is less of a hassle of taking a pill everyday or getting the shot every 3 months. I don't know anyone else that is on it so all input would be appreciated. Thanks

I love mine
bled after implantaation for 3 weeks and the implantation was uncomfortable
I have very light periods.

However I have lost a great amount of hair, not sure if it is the Mirena or giving birth.

But No pregnancy! yay

yall r talkin about the IUD right?? i want that too...but i have to wait till i make an appointment...and i heard sometimes u get put on a waiting list

Mine is really nice. I have had spotting on and off but I also have been getting my period for a while longer than normal. But I have no pains!!! The other bad thing is sometime I can feel the strings and that hurts a little.

I read alot about it and thought it would be really bad but i decided to try it out anyway, i got mine about 3 weeks ago and it's not as bad as i thought it would be. I took a few tylenol like an hour before i went in and the insertion was a little uncomfortable but not too bad i get mild cramps sometimes and ive had spotting but thats normal for the first month or so. my doc just said i need to go in for a check up after my next period since its been in to make sure it hasnt fallen out and theres two really thin strings that hang from it so you can reach up and check that its there if you want, but i havent.. the only thing i have noticed is i seem to be getting more headaches, but i also dont get too much sleep or eat barely anything since im so busy so that could be it... but from what ive heard its like the most reliable birth control and definately the easiest after you go through getting it in

I have Mirena. It's been 2 and a half weeks.

Implantation didn't hurt at all for me. Well...other than the speculum going in. And no cramps afterwards at all.

If you're not comfortable w/ a plastic IUC in your uterus, there's Implanon. It's a new version of the arm implant. Instead of multiple rods, this is just one plastic rod and it lasts 3 years.

I've had it for 7 months. No way I could take a pill every day or shot every couple months. It's very convenient for me! But the first 3 months I did bleed at first it was alot then got better.. Then I got regular periods but they lasted 10 days and just last month my period was very light didn't even need a tampon or pad and lasted like 4 days!
