would it be selfish in this case to abort?

in only 9 weeks pregnant. but i dont want to be pregnant anymore because i still drink and smoke ice sometimes. and i dont think it would be responsible to keep the fetus. i tried quitting but i cant. and if i did end up keeping it, it would probably retarded or deformed or blind or deaf or all of the above

fix yourself, and your addictions, then have a baby.

it would actually be the best idea in this situation.

Nope, not selfish at all. You're thinking about the baby and it's health and the fact that you aren't able to stop using. Many women would continue the pregnancy while continuing to use drugs, sadly.

If you want the baby and/or want to quit, have you looked into rehab?

If not, then abortion is a choice only you can make. For some people, they might regret it for the same reasons you would do it, others wouldn't regret it at all. If you're not 100% on it, don't do it, though.

You can only get better when you are ready, and impending motherhood, for some women is the kick in the pants they need. For others it only exacerbates things. If you want an abortion try to get one soon because they get hard to find and pricier the longer you wait. And I hope for your own sake that you can get off of your substance abuse problems.

If you feel like you should deep down, then make sure you are well informed and educated, make sure you have someone to talk to that won't be judgmental, and make sure you are 100% sure about your decision. This is going to be really difficult to go through either way you decide. If you do decide to keep the pregnancy, be sure to find a doctor who is experienced in your situation and will help you rather than make you feel guilty. Also- know that you are not alone. Being pregnant is a huge sacrifice, not to mention the rest of your life will completely change. If you are not ready to be able to provide the best womb and home for your baby, then you've got a big decision to make. Good luck to you. Just make sure you are very informed!

i am not for abortion at all but in the case your in it would be selfless because you are aware that you need to work on yourself and you addictions before you can bring another person into the world. i applaud you for the decision you are about to make. the way i see it the moment you find out your pregnant thats the moment you become a mom and thats the moment you make the biggest parenting decision of your life. to keep, adopt or abort.
