if you werent ready to be a parent then yes but you atleast did try using some type of protection no where does it say she used any thing to keep from getting pregnant

exactly. she didn't say whether she tried to avoid, or not. so there is no place for you to judge her.

of course me and SO weren't ready. but we've made it work, and we're more than excited.

it might be selfish to know you have a problem, and do nothing to try and help it.

i have respect for her saying she needs to get help. and respect her for not choosing to put the baby in danger on her journey to clean herself up.

Facts are not up for debate.

She was addicted before she got pregnant. She can not go back in time and change it. The fact that she's worried about it in itself makes it not a selfish act.

I don't believe in abortion, and I don't agree with addiction, BUT:

You are at least caring enough to question whether or not this is a good thing, staying pregnant and otherwise. You earn points for that. And no matter what any of us say, you are still the one who has to make that decision and live with that decision.

There is adoption, but given the things going on and the problems you yourself have pointed out, that probably isn't really a feasible option either, because then what is that baby going to have to face for the rest of their life if they even make it to being born or being term without even being aborted.

You still have a while for your body to reject it because of the drugs and everything anyway, you're not out of the ":safe zone" for miscarriage in even a completely healthy pregnancy, so you still have a *little* bit of time to make a decision, but if you chose an abortion to save the baby from a life time of possible woes brought on by your inability to get clean, then no, that really wouldn't be selfish.

Your opinion! Yours only don't listen to these PRO-LIFERS that just beat and break realistic women down.If your not ready, your not ready I would rather be someone to stop the situation if its going to be a bad outcome before it happens. Not force myself into a situation where I would no I would fail. Its completely up to you, trust. Fix yourself and move on do what's best for YOU! Regardless of what anybody else says. You can have a baby when You are ready.  

It's a personal decision and THE hardest one you will ever have to make and live with. If you are asking this on a forum then you are having doubts if it is the right decision.
Speaking as someone who had one a long time ago I can honestly say that I did it for the Same reasons and for me although it was the right thing at the time, it turned out to be the wrong thing to do. Not a day goes by where I don't regret it.

Now here a I am years later with a baby I love more then anything in the world, I no longer smoke and I am proud that I manged to quit.

Ironic really that I couldn't quit for the right reasons but managed to quit when I felt like it. I wish I had been abit stronger and quit when it meant something.

But like I said it is a personal choice and no one can make it for you or tell you if your right or wrong.

Do any of us think before or while having sex? When your in the moment you just want to feel the lovely affect of euphoria and absolute pleasure ... some of us yes are on birthcontrol, use a condom, diaphram etc... but there are others that are not. who are you to really sit there and judge what someone did while there legs were spread? Your implying she's a whore and shouldn't have gotten knocked up. despite the women out there that "plan" there pregnancy do we ever expect to get pregnant.NO we do not. You should think before venting because you sound ignorant.....
