Breastfeeding after Csection

My baby is 13 days old now and I'm still having issues with getting my milk! I had a emerg csection and I have heard that with some women when having a csection, it cause issues with getting your milk to come. Have any of you had this happen? What could I do to help it along?

I did. I got a prescription from my OB for reglan. And it did help. Also, drinking lots and lots of liquids. I like to add ginger tea because it's supposed to help with the let down.

OP: I had an emergency c section and the first month was hell but it got easier after lots of fenugreek, mothers milk tea and oatmeal. Ended up drying up at 5 months.

I started pumping while in the hospital & I now produce TOO MUCH milk at 7 days pp lol. I definitely suggest pumping and allowing LO to soothe suck. Even if LO isn't getting anything out, the stimulation increases your supply.

Do not give up! If you don't have a pump, and can't afford a fancy one, even a manual pump can stimulate production.

I had to supplement for about 2 weeks because of it. What did help was nursing OFTEN ... like all the time lol , I would also do 15 min pumping sessions every 2 hours , taking fenugreek , and blessed thissle . Drink LOTS of water , and rest whenever you can .

I too had an emergency c-section, and had to start supplementing when DS was 2 weeks old because at his 2 week check up he was just an oz more than he weighed at birth.. I tried getting my supply up while supplementing but it didn't work very well, I was taking lots of Fenugreek and pumping but when I pumped for like an hour I would get 1-2 oz from both boobs!   I was soo disappointed in myself and the last time I bf him was in February so he was around 5 months old when I completely dried up as well..

OMG you are still on the coffee cake!!
This weekend I will come over and bring coffee cake with me. Seriously. Just LO. Big boys are going to stay home with their dad.

Ummm when the coffee cake looks that amazing then yes! Lol totally made me 😄!!! Lol!
