boobie feeding moms

posted 11th Sep
I am on day four of breast feeding the newb... my milk came in yesterday morning and it seems like I am always engorged! It is painful. G will eat then I will feel okay but then an 30 mins-1 hour later I will be hard as a rock and in pain again. Is there such thing as producing too much milk?! I don't know what I am asking but I do need help.

hand express some or use a hand pump to release some it will make you feel better.

You can try to hand express a small amount to help with the engorgement pain. You will be engorged until your milk regulates to what the baby needs. I was only really engorged a couple of days, maybe a week at the most.

If you have a pump use it to get the extra milk out. Trust me it's a really good thing to have too much milk lol. Better than struggling with not enough.

okay I wasn't sure if I pumped if it would create even more milk and cause more issues.

It's totally normal. It will go down soon! Just keep it up. You can express some to relieve the discomfort, but try not to too much because that will stimulate your breasts to keep producing that much. It'll get better!
