They say its not good because of sucking. You do not have to make the freaking bottle think. You can add two scoops and it doesnt thicken up. If the baby can suck then its fine. You also have to regulate it to so it doesnt cause obesity in the future for the child. It is also mainly used if the baby is underweight. Fyi the baby that i normally took care of at night was underweight from being sick.

You said every baby in the daycare got cereal in their bottles. Did you not? You're kidding yourself if you think it doesn't thicken the formula. That's why doctors say to do it in cases of AR because it makes it thicker harder to pule back up an will bind everything together.

It depends on the amount in the bottle also..two scoops of cereal barely thickens a bottle of formula doesnt even look like any is in it..every baby in the daycare did get cereal unless parents said not to give cereal or they brought breast milk..when they toured the daycare every parent seen every room and everything done regardless what room their child was going into. The parents decided if their children received cereal or not

There are so many things wrong with that I don't even know where to begin. I'm done going in circles with someone who is either refusing to read the research or is reading it and choosing to ignore it. Cereal before 4 months is just a bad idea even after its still pointless. Cereal or anything other than formula/BM in a bottle (other than medical reason) is just smurfing stupid.

So to clarify.. Your baby didn't have formula or breastmilk after 2 weeks just straight milk and food?

I read what it said and that is what it said..people have their own personal opinions about giving their child cereal in formula. You obviously are against. Fine thats your choice..move on..i never said i was going to do it to my future children

Not my baby.lol. my little sister. She had breast milk for two weeks and then she wouldnt take it anymore. She started vitamin d milk and regular food(smashed up eggs and beans and tortillas. Stopped wearing a diaper at a year and freaked my mom out..she was a really good baby. Now shes just to grown for her size!

I'm surprised she doesn't have major health issues.

i wouldn't give baby anything unless they are able to sit alone or are a well supported sitter. they say 6 months is best to start introducing solid foods. your baby's tummy isn't quite ready for anything other then breastmilk/formula up to that point
