has anyone dealt with hypotonia of only one side of the body? my daughter (16 months) went to see a neurologist today and he said she has hypotonia on the right side of her body. and she is being scheduled for an MRI.

Yes, we know a guy who has it on his left side only. He had cerebral palsy like my brother does.

I *think* this is part of what they were worried about with Teagan. She also had an MRI. For a while (she wasn't walking much yet, just starting) she drug one side of her body. She could only walk if you held THAT hand. If you held the other hand she could walk because she needed the extra support. She still has a little trouble with one side of her mouth (same side).
They did an MRI, everything was fine and she's doing well now. There were a few things they were concerned about, but it ended up being none of those things.

A few people have mentioned CP, which is why she had the appointment with the neuro. She has problems opening and closing her hands sometimes as well. They said if the MRI is clean they want to do genetic testing since my son has autism.

Yeah, she drags her right foot and trips over them a lot. Both her feet point in, with the right one more in than the left. And she already shows preference for her left hand/arm. She's in OT already for her fine motor. So hopefully she will catch up soon.

She only has problems with her hands sometimes? How was her birth, any issues? As I said my younger brother has cp, along with cognitive delays and epilepsy. I also work with other adults with cp and am licensed to work with and have children and adults with disabilities live in my home. pm me if you have any questions or need to talk.
