I thought about this...problem is my last birth was a c-section and evern tho i really want to go thru a VBAC, there's no telling that's going to go smoothly.

Check this out. Even if u don't fall into those guidelines for income they often have a copay program where u pay like $15-30 a month. Call an ask. If not they might be able to lead u in the right direction.

REALLY? This is good news. I'm surprised no one told me about this earlier lol I just figured since we gross about 80K there was no way they'd give us anything.

I would atleast try, its different in every state and county. Here they are pretty stingy, we don't make anywhere near that and I couldn't get anything.

So negative on all the links ya'll sent me for medicaid. Make waaayyy too much. I'm in the military (just guard, not active duty) so I'm offered TriCare but I can't re-enroll til Feb 2013. My husband has open enrollment at his work but it's in the Spring 2013. I'm due in March.

I know a lot of you are sitting there thinking, "This girl and her husband make 80K a year, why can't they afford insurance?" We GROSS 80 grand, that's def NOT what we bring home and after bills, we're struggling to buy groceries. I spent all day yday researching insurance companies. The majority of them won't cover me bc I'm already pregnant (pre-exisitin condition) and the others want $300-$400 a month! Which I obviously can't afford. So now what?

I would still TRY medicaid. At worst, they send you a letter saying you make too much. I understand the whole gross income, totally. We gross alot (not nearly as much as you but still) but the actual income isn't even close and it sucks.

Try looking into a Modern Woodman Of America Agent in your area. DH works for them on the side and pregnancy isn't considered pre-existing thru them. Ofcourse premiums vary so I couldnt even give you a round about number

Usually can't u apply if u have a life altering chnge in your family. I think pregnancy qualifies for that. Maybe call and ask. I know when I was offered dental one yr they said take it now or wait until open enrollment unless u Hve a life altering siutation(such as marriage or preg.).

This ^
My son was on tricare for a while. And he qualified as a "life altering" case. We applied before the date we were allowed to and got accepted
