Do I need to go to court?

So BD hasn't paid child support in months. I got a letter saying he has court on the 11th. Last time this happened, I ended up going because I wanted to see what was going on. Now I honestly don't care what they do to him because it's his fault for not calling them and telling them he didn't have a job. I have 2 classes and one has a lab that day. Missing those classes would put me so far behind I probably won't be able to catch up. I've been calling the child support enforcer for a week now almost nonstop and she hasn't returned my calls. Does anyone know if it's mandatory that I go or not? BD's name is the only one on the papers they sent.

I assume if his name is the only one that says is supposed to attend.. then he would be the only one needing to attend...

I don't know the laws, or your situation with your family, but I would have one of your family members or a close friend, with papers on stating why they are there on your behalf...the judge will appreciate you prioritizing bettering your life for your child, just to be sure I would send somebody.

My brother's a lawyer and actually works in the court house. Maybe I can see if he can just stop in for me or something.
