I went to the hospital the other night because I thought my water broke, I am 19 weeks, so they did a test it came back positive then they did an ultrasound, and she said everything was normal, my fluid looked good and everything. So they called it extra discharge... why in the heck would the test come back positive for amniotic fluid then turn around and say it is discharge?! She didnt even tell me to keep my feet up nothing, she just said it was "normal." Let me know what you think.
It could be a high tear. I had a high tear and went in for my water breaking and they said it was not my water but I leaked for a week. Nurses never confirmed it was my water but my midwife beloved it was. My contractions started after he initial gush and when I went in again she was born with one push. I was only in labor 2 hours. Also they never had to break my water at the hospital and I had a small gush before she came out.
With my son I leaked all day and still had a huge gush when he came out.
Quoting Tiffany Hafner:" but I still have it at times and it smells so bad. "
It smells bad? Um, amniotic fluid doesn't smell bad. That sounds like discharge. I'd go back and see if maybe you have some sort of infection. Nothing coming from your vagina should smell bad.
