Trying again

posted 6th Sep '12
I lost my son gauge almost 2 weeks ago now, he was still born. He was our first child and its completely broken both min and my husbands heart. I was only 32 weeks when I delivered so labor was quick and easy. We are wanting to try again because that's all we want was to have a family. Im feeling good now already started exercising doctor has ok it, bleeding has quit ect... how soon is too soon to start tho? We have already had sec this week, but I was still nervous. He is in the military and will be home in 3 1/2 weeks. Is that ok?

I think anytime after u have ur first period after birth would be okay, just so u know that u are ovulating again and thats its possible to start trying.

As soon as you both are ready both physically and emotionally.

You need to allow yourself some time to grieve, but if you feel like you are ready, then you are.

Well we found out early in pregnancy that our son had a genetic disorder and his chances were slim but we were trying to be optimistic, but we had a lot of time to really think and grieve. But I know what u mean thank you both

That's good you got to grieve. My son's death was unexplained and remains to this day a mystery, even though an autopsy was made.

So yeah...I still am in the grieving stage and it happenned in February.

The dr's recommend somewhere between 3 and 6 cycles unless there was a c-section or something like that. After my son died, I waited 2 cycles (with the ok from the dr) because everyone thought it was going to be a process to get me prego again. I got pregnant that first cycle of trying.

In hindsight, i wish i waited a little longer because i was emotionally a mess that pregnancy. Some of that was obviously unavoidable. It all worked out though and that baby is 4 now.

The right time is when you feel like it is. When you feel like you have grieved. Not necessarily get Closure, because I don't think there is such a thing as closure after losing a child, but at least to when you can think about her without wanting to curl into a ball and cry until you vomit...

I am so so so sorry for your loss. Give yourself time.

Wish you the best.
