C.A.S involvement

is anyone else having issues with them because of your age?

I've never had an issue with cps and never heard of anyone having problems with them cause of their age.

No. I was told a social worker would come talk to me in the hospital, but they never did.

ya it sucks, the city ii live in the CPS/C.A.S is known for taking teenage parents kids away, they get involved because of our age and somehow because i'm a younger parent theres gotta be something wrong with my parenting :/ its upsetting. Shes not even born yet and i feel like i'm not going to be able to raise my own baby.

That sounds silly I hope its not the case there has to be more to the story than age you shouldnt have anything to worry about as long and your taking care of ur baby.

there is nothing more then my age and family i dont even live with :/ so hopefully it will be gone before shes born

Lol CAS is not like that in Ontario. You are assessed in the hospital and if they think you are capable of taking care of your child, not on drugs or involved with the wrong people, then you are OK. If they suspect anything then they will assign you a case worker but they won't just up and take your damn kids away from you. I live in Ontario and have many many friends who are young mothers who went through that process. The only woman I know who has gotten her children taken away from her was due to the fact that her baby came out addicted to crack. That is the only reason I've seen.

well shes not been takin from me, and they arent even giving me a hard time they just want to talk to me, and i understand why they probably want to make sure im not living with my dad because of his record so hopefully nothing will happen, and its not all of ontario i said in my city because in my city thats what they are known for, they barely help they kids that really need it, i know i've got friends and i'v been one of the kids who needed there help and got ignored

Think what you want, hun. I know the what they're like, as I've dealt with them(a neighbor called on me because she doesn't like me, they weren't even going to open a file until I asked them for help with putting us in touch with people/doctors that could help us with our oldest sons behavioral issues), and they didn't help at all. Instead, they tried to do everything they could to prove that I was an unfit parent. They even went as far as to try to use my health issues against me(anemia, endometriosis, depression(before I had kids), even though they knew that none of those issues affected my ability to parent, love and take care of my kids), and they even tried to use my Dh being in the military against us, stating that it was bad for our children to grow up in such an unpredictable environment.   When that didn't work, they were forced to close my file. So don't you dare tell me that they are not like that. I guess the fact that I had CAS involved in my life makes me an idiot than, eh?

Just because you had one bad case doesn't mean that EVERYONE has bad cases. I had CAS and I would never be able to do what they do. I couldn't fathom how the parents feel when their children are taken away from them. But in some cases, it really is good. I watched a peer drop her 3 wk old preemie on his smurfing head because she was drunk and high as smurf on coke and smurf yeah I called CAS! I made SURE they followed up on it because she's smurfed up more than once! Oh and what do you know.. When I didn't hear from her in the next few days she was still sitting in jail from a few nights prior because she went crazy on her boyfriend and beat the smurf out of him. It's those COMPLETE smurfing idiots who need to get slapped upside the smurfing head. Makes me sick.

But I'm sorry that you had to go through that.
