My son is 5 ( today is his b day) he has been in a developmental pre k since he was 3. He has several people who think several things are going on. We have had anxiety disorders, spd, late onset autism, medically fragile, and the most common diagnosis "I have no clue" thrown at us. He started getting angry around 16 months old. Once the anger was controlled be started getting sad and scared and very hyper. We got most the sadness and scared issues take. Care of but he is still soooo hyper. We figured part of may be the summer break. Well not that he's back in school he is still hyper. His teacher told me yesterday that it's more than normal. She also told me that at this point she is not sure if she'd put him in the general Ed kindergarten class next year, or if she would keep him in a small environment classroom. ( he missed the age cut off this year which is fine with us) This is a huge blow. We really thought his behavior was mainly at home. We have never really felt that he would need to be in special Ed classes after pre k. I have to talk with his teacher today to see if the hyperness behavior is the main issue or if it's something else. We see his doctor in Friday so hopefully this is enough to try the smallest doses of meds possible for him.
