How long will we stay in hospital w/ circumcission?

I'm due Dec 19th with a boy. I'm wondering how long we will have to stay in the hospital if give birth w/ no c sect, but they do a circumcission? I've heard they won't do it until 24 hours after birth to make sure he is stable, and won't let him leave another 24 hours after that? So that would be like 3 days I'm guessing? Just trying to figure out our Christmas plans lol!

We were in the hospital 2 days, I think that is standard, circumcision or not....

I was in the hospital for 24 hrs, came back the next day fr a circ and stayed an hour.

Circumcision is an out patient procedure usually so it shouldn't effect anything

They did my sons circumcision. 6 hours after he was born. I coulve gone home 24 hrs later but I they extended my stay since I hemmorhaged after having him.

My boys were circed at 6 weeks, but they came home same day they had it done.

i was in the hospital 36 hours (since DS was born at midnight) and we had it done the second day, and left about an hour later.

My son's circumcision was delayed a day.. He was born with a broken clavicle from being stuck. We got to leave as soon as it was done.

They typically will let you go once baby boy has urinated. That's all we were waiting for once we were stable enough to leave (I had fevers and he had jaundice). I had a rough emergency c-section and they waited to do his circ until his bilirubin was better.

I stayed 3 days. Son was in nicu 3 days. They circ'd him 4hrs before we went home. Had he not been in nicu it would have only been a 2 day stay for the both of us. Vaginal birth.

i had my son at 1035am on a wednesday they circed him wednesday night and we left friday morning

Thanks for the replys! I guess it differs everywhere. I'm sure I'll want to go home as soon as possible (to sleep, well try to sleep, in my own bed!). Definately going to be a fun Christmas this year

When I had my son I was in the hospital one full day for labor and then one full day after having him and the next day (day 3 of total visit to hospital) they circumsized him and let us go home within an hour. I mean they took him circumsized him and then his dad left to go back home and get my jeep (he has a truck) and the carseat so we could leave. The entire time he was gone I was packing and getting DS ready to go and then they said we could leave. SO it does vary from hospital to hospital I think. Good luck though its gonna be quite interesting dealing with everything of the Christmas season and a newborn at the same time.
