head down - movement ?
posted 20th May
Heyyyy ladies! I have a question that I really need answers to. As of today at my DR's appointment, ms. Eva is head down! yayyy, a big step in the right direction. . . BUT lately, I have noticed a changed in her movement patterns. She isn't moving nearly as much as she used too. . . I still feel her rolling around, and poking but her movements aren't as prominent as they used to be. Does this have anything to do with her getting into position? I don't want to overreact if this is normal. Information is appriciated!!

mine stopped moving as much once she was head down, or atleast i didnt feel it as much. if youre really worried, just mention it to the doctor. :]
your baby may also be running out of room too, so that decreases the movements.

She isn't moving as much because she is so much more cramped in there now than she was before.. and now that her head is down maybe she is in a weird position to move. It's normal. And I really don't understand what you're asking about the whole right side thing..

were due on the same day, and i had a dr. appointment today also. Noah is finally head down too! YAY! But i have noticed that his movements are not as frequent lately, but that's just because he's running out of room in there. I dont get real strong kicks anymore, i get pushing, like he taking his foot and pushing as hard as he can, almost like he's trying to push his way out the side of my belly.

your baby is getting bigger so she wont move as much. shes gettin a lil crammed in there!

my baby has been head down, and he stays on my right side...it could mean that you will only feel her kicking/moving on the right side, and when you sleep on your left side, you will feel her under your right ribs...I hope that all made sense...its how my son treats me!

my baby moves less as well and she is actually laying against my left side, so I guess that is normal and I am already 38 weeks. I am sure when the time comes your baby will move into proper position facing your back.

Thanks ladies! She was moving at the DR's appointment today, she was running away from the doppler =X. lol. But I feel as if she is cramped in there, I just didn't want to callL&D if it wasn't a serious matter. . . my doc always tells me to call if her movements change drastically. Good to know I am not the only one experiencing this weird change. I'm used to her kicking up a storm, I actually kinda miss it =(

if you feel her rolling and whatnot its perfectly fine. during kick counts its considered a "kick" with any type of movement

when do they start getting in postion?

Quoting Aynsley's mommy:“ when do they start getting in postion?”
it could be any time. it can be 1 month before or 2 hours before you deliver. everyone is different

her movements (count wise) should still be the same..maybe varied a little because in case u didn't know already she has way less room than say...a month ago. but it's normal that the babies movement in utero changes. theres less room to do somersaults in.

wow my midwife told me he was head down at around 31 weeks and he still moves crazy. I always see this little lump moving all over the place. Sometimes I wonder if he's just going to punch out of there one day. That wouldn't be good.

The closer you get to your due date, the less they typically move around because they have less room.
