Huh (vent)

So I called my midwife to ask about my lab work and she saw that I had a quantitative HCG test done and she said my levels were 1350 or something like that. She said, it is a positive, made a joke about knowing I'm pregnant, and then said its a little low, do you know how many weeks you are? Don't you think they should know I had a miscarriage? Or have a note in my chart? She said "oh, I'm looking at your prenatal chart" Really? No sorry? Have a heart lady.

It's amazing when it hits you. Right out of the blue, like a ton of bricks.

I cant even imagine. That would make me want to find a new Dr. As a matter of fact, my family Dr. had the nerve to say to my OB that he had no clue I was even pregnant. This was about a month ago. I am due this month. Are you kidding me? All the OB appointments in my chart and he had no clue? I even have saved emails sending them to his office to tell them that I had a positive blood test. I dont think they even bother to read any more! I would have ripped her face off!!!

I think the worst part about it is she was the one that I called when I was having the miscarriage and the one that I called after the hospital told me that there was no heart beat.

Wow that makes it even more wrong. And to share such a tearful moment and then have them call you like they had no clue who the hell you were. Just another #. We thought we were having a miscarriage @ 17 weeks. And when into the ER. The Dr. was an ass. Told us that your HCG levels were dropping and that we were probably going to miscarry over the weekend. We felt so helpless and asked what we should do. Nothing just go home and wait it out. Well the dumb a hole had his facts wrong and I guess HCG levels drop around 13 weeks. It is normal and he said it was 20 weeks! If I see that Dr. again, I think I might punch him in the face.
I am sooo sorry for your loss.
My husband and I did IVF to have this baby. I cant imagine going thru what you have gone thru. I
Does this lady work for a Dr. office? I would call and talk to the person over her head for sure. That is just nuts. I can not think of a bigger F up than that!

It's a midwives office.

I had a relatable experience (although yours is waaaay worse). I had a scary delivery with my second. I was with the midwives but they had to call in 2 doctors and a whole team of nurses. My sons cord was wrapped around his neck, his chest and his legs (the longest cord anyone said that they've ever seen).

When I went in for a postnatal checkup my midwife had no recollection of my birth. She didn't remember that my son almost died or that an entire team of doctors and nurses had to assist them. I has to fill her in on everything. I was pretty upset. I'm sure she could have wrote down somewhere then read it before I showed up so she could pretend like she knew what she was talking about.

I've had excellent experiences with midwives other than this.

So have I. I'm going to stick with them and hopefully the situation is different next time.
