painful BH?

I've had pretty uncomfortable BH my whole pregnancy(i'm 38 weeks now) but a few days ago I noticed I was having some pretty bad pain really low in my stomach when I had them. I dont think they feel like real contractions but i dont think BH are supposed to be painful?? I'm not having any bleeding or anything so I wasnt too worried, and I have an appointment with my doc tomorrow so I'll talk to her about it, just wondered if anyone else was feeling this and if you think its pretty normal? Other than this pain I'm having noooo signs of labor being close, so I want this to be a sign!!! I'm soooo ready for this to be over and to see my little girl!! Had an ultra sound today because doc said i'm measuring large for dates, they say she's about 8 lbs. She's only going to get bigger so she needs to come sooooon!!!

Anyway, i'm off topic. BH painful anyone??

Me too! I even rushed to L&D yesterday becos I thot the same as you - BH ones are painless. So I'm curious to hear from other mommies who've gone thru this before...

start walking mass girl.. and ive always heard BH arent supposed to be painful. i couldbe wrong though. do them come and go our are they consistant contractions?

i dont kno exactly what BH's feel like but below my belly i have this shooting pain on the left side..my mom says its BH's but i thought they werent supposed to hurt!so u're not the only one wondering!i hope this is my sign too!i have 8 days left!

i had some extremely painful ones when i was preg..
i went to the hospital a few times for them..
they just told me time them and when they are consistantly 3-5 min apart or if my water breaks to come back..
other than that.. u just have to be in pain lol
it sucks..i know!

Well they certainly can be painful but not enough to bring you to your knees like a real contraction.. They're also much shorter than a real contraction would last..

I've been getting them ALOT lately.. I know they're BH cause they only last for about 30 seconds top and they only affect the lower third of my abdomen.. Real contractions would pretty much be your lower ribcage and down and almost twice as long..

It may not be indicative of labor but it could be prepping your cervix, thinning it out a bit.. Tell your OB about it @ your next appt..

The ones I have aren't painful, however, I'm only 27 weeks along, so I don't know if I'd feel them more later on... It kinda hurts If I'm sitting down and it's really tight and & I get up tho, but nothing to make me go "ow son of a Bitch" over..
