Around 11:15 I had just started watching a movie and my nurse walks in, saying "I have potentially good news or bad news. You're going to deliver tonight." Due to the high amounts of protein in my urine and my elevated BP over the last day, the docs didn't want to risk my kidneys or any other organs.
I get my stuff together and am wheeled to a labour room. Given an ultrasound to check baby's position and answered a butt ton of questions.
Because I'm 35.2 w my cervix was closed, high and toward my back. So obviously not very favourable. I was given the option to try getting my cervix to cooperate, but risking past C-Section incision rupturing, or going right for the C-Section.
Since the cervix thing wasn't a sure bet and I might end up getting a C-Section done anyway, I just opted for that. Pretty bummed I wasn't getting my VBAC but mine and baby's health come first.
With that decision made I got prepped and moved into the surgery room. Once things were under way my mom came into the room with me.
Now for the good part..........
Tobias Levi was born on September 4 2012 at 2:30 AM. He weighed 4 lbs 2 1/2 oz and was 16.9 in long. He is absolute perfection and I'm completely in love.
Since he's 5 weeks early he'll be in the NICU until he hits term, or depends on how he does. Which so far, is fabulous. He's breathing all on his own. He's amazing.
I adore his white-blonde, fuzz hair and his wrinkly skin. I can't wait to bring him home.
As for me, I'm doing really well. My BP is back to normal and I've already been out of bed. In some pain but nothing too spectacular.
Thanks for all of the well wishes from everyone! And thanks for looking.
