I have the Radian R120 and it has the top tether feature however I have NO anchorage points in my car (old model). Does it make much of a difference? I'm afraid the seat could go flying forward or something. IDK where I would hook the top tether. The site says that the seats pass crash tests without the tether strap but if theres a way to attach it, I'd rather do that. TIA

Your seat should have come with an extra little strap and a metal piece attached to that strap called a "D Ring". You loop this around a grounded piece of the vehicle that is bolted into the frame. For example, usually the leg or a metal structure bar under the front seat is accessible and usable. You would loop that strap around, slip the D Ring through the sewn loop in the strap, then pull tight and attach your top tether to the D Ring in order to create a top anchor. Pull excess slack out of your top tether.





However, you do not HAVE to use this and your seat is still perfectly safe without it.

Yeah I was a little confused regarding that too because my Explorer has no anchor points for a top tether rear facing. Then once I sat down and started looking through the manual (like, 5 times in a row) lol it finally dawned on me that you have to use the extra piece to create one. *lightbulb* lol!
