Carseats True or False?

posted 3rd Sep
I have the Graco Myride 65, I was planning to bring DD home the hospital in it once she decides to vacate my body. I was talking with my sister and she was informed by the carseat people at Babies R us that I will not be allowed to bring her home from the hospital in it. True or false?

As long as she's 5 lbs, you're good to go.

False.
What is she basing this information off of?

I have no idea, just what someone at bru told her. I thought she was full of smurf, I was just checking.

If the straps are not at or below her shoulders it is unsafe to use. My son is almost 26" and barely fit his convertible.

As long as she's 5 pounds and the first strap slot is at or below her shoulders, you're good to go.

As long as it's rear facing and your baby isn't less then 5 lbs and the straps come down at or below her shoulders, you're fine.

IDK how it works anywhere else but the nurse told me DD had to leave the hospital in her car seat just as I had to leave in the wheelchair, they wouldn't let me or anyone hold her she had to be in the carrier. Although they did ask us what kind of car seat we had and we told them the infant seat so maybe that's why they did it that way I'm not 100% sure.

I had to be taken to the front of the hospital in a wheel chair. But no matter what procedure I've had done at the hospital they made me leave in a wheelchair.

They usually do that here, too, but they make exceptions for convertible seats. They come out and thoroughly check em and all.

If you are following the instructions on the seat itself, you should be good to go.
